Plain Words from a Neuropsychoanalytic Psychotherapist

 So today marks the beginning of my new blog called, "Plain Words from an a Neuropsychoanalytic Psychotherapist." Why this title? Well, it allows me a lot of room to talk about anything and everything I have learned in 30+ years of doing psychoanalytic and (since 2020) neuropsychoanalytic psychotherapy.

  My professional journey began in theology and pastoral ministry. I then moved into psychoanalysis and pastoral psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Over the years I further explored evolutionary biology,  paleoanthropology, the science and psychoanalysis of religion, genealogy, history, philosophy, science and most recently neuropsychoanslysis. And these have been just my major interests! I also write here about my family, and life stories, and my own professional memoirs. Being a neuropsychoanalytic therapist makes you interested in your patients' personal histories. It also makes you interested in your own. 

So, I guess I am saying I will be writing here about anything and everything I want  to say ---whatever strikes my fancy, so to speak. So if one subject does not interest you, just keep on scrolling. Hopefully you will find one that does. 

Also, everything  I write about in this Blog will be written for popular ( non specialist) audiences. That means I am not going to use technical language on any regular basis, and if I do I will make sure I explain things in plain English. Thus the second meaning of my Blog name--I intend to write simply and clearly so that you will not only learn from, but enjoy reading my posts.

In my many years as a therapist, I have seen over 1100 patients in psychotherapy  and supervised 16 student therapists. I am also now a senior citizen. So my age plus my experience have taught me that it is time to share some of this clinical and otherwise wisdom with others. So sit back, relax, and enjoy my blog, "Plain Words from a Neuropsychoanalytic Psychotherapist."
